Prologue Teenagers research

Define teenager:
A person aged between 13 and 19 years.

Teenagers can be loud, fun, interested in their surroundings and willing to explore. The prologue of Nation begins with a group of teenagers breaking into an abandoned building where their lives become a performance of two worlds colliding to form one.

Our costumes must be suitable to both our natural teenagers and our characters within the Nation. To represent a teenager I have chosen to wear bright and bold colours such as reds. Moreover patterns are indicative of youthful age.

When I'm in the space I must remember I am new to the environment so I'm interested in all of my surroundings. To make this more realistic I will speak amongst my peers to share the excitement of what I am seeing. The atmospherics allow me to be interested in what I witness. I will be looking at walls, floors. ceilings, props etc. this will allow me to have a motive for what I am so excited to be witnessing and sharing with those around me.

Its vital to balance the space so that the audience are aware of what is happening in the performance. Furthermore using levels allows the audience to see past some characters and focus their attention on others. Therefore having a strong ensemble unit allows the play to reach its full, capturing potential.
